Preparing your Publications Mail
To qualify for Publications Mail, your mail must be prepared in accordance with specifications as outlined in the Mail Preparation and Presortation section of the Canada Postal Guide.
- Every Item must be addressed to a subscriber, non-subscriber, or news dealer in Canada.
- Your mail must be prepared as machineable or presorted as NDG or LCP and can be sent anywhere in Canada.
Mailings that Do Not Meet Publications Mail Requirements
If Items do not qualify for Canada Post's Publications Mail service as tendered, Canada Post will endeavor to contact the Customer to discuss available options such as:
- Reworking the mailing so as to meet the requirements;
- Having the mail processed using an alternative Canada Post service option at applicable prices; or
- Making arrangements to pick up their mailing.
In some cases, a mailing which does not fully meet certain specifications for Publications Mail may be able to be processed but would create extra handling for Canada Post. In order to recover such extra handling costs, surcharges will be applied.
