Anticipated Returns

Anticipated Returns service is Canada Post's newest reverse logistics solution.

Prompt and cost-effective return of product is a crucial element to your supply chain. With Anticipated Returns, you'll be able to manage the return of goods from your customer back to your warehouse.

You can further enhance your Returns by choosing E-mail Notification, which means you'll receive an e-mail once the returned package is shipped back to you. Combined with Reference Number Tracking, Anticipated Returns service provides a powerful reverse logistics solution.

During your shipping process, simply select the Return label option and include the label with your original shipment. You can also choose the service level for the Anticipated Returns. In the event that your product ever needs to be returned, your customer already has a Return label - and you don't pay the Returns shipping charges unless the package is shipped!

Using the Anticipated Returns service means improved inventory control, spent less time on managing Returns, and increased access to your company's Returns information. When combine Anticipated Returns service with Reference Number Tracking, you can create a convenient reverse logistics tool.

It's just one of the ways that Canada Post helping its Customers do business better.

  • A Canada Post-approved shipping system and a bar code label are required for the Anticipated Returns service
  • In order to create a Return label, you must create an origin shipping label
  • Up to four e-mail addresses can be used with Returns E-mail Notification
  • For tracking purposes, the Return Item number is linked to the origin Item number
  • The Return service can be different from the origin service
  • Users will be billed only for the Returns that are shipped
  • Customers can link up to two unique reference numbers per shipment
  • Tracking Returns and downloading manifests are available for up to 60 days after the shipping date or 45 days from the last acceptance scan, whichever is the greater
  • The manifest file, which can be downloaded from the Canada Post website, will have the Return Item number added to it
