Addressed AdmailTM
- Service Standards

Canada Post has developed service standards for properly prepared Addressed Admail Items.

Customers must comply with the scheduling requirements to help ensure proper delivery arrangements are in place to meet Customer delivery requests.

Service standards are estimates of how long it will take for the mail to be delivered from the point of deposit to the destination points. Service standards are not guaranteed.

A general overview of the Addressed Admail service standards* is as follows

LOCAL 3 business days
Within a PROVINCE 4 - 5 business days
NATIONAL 4 - 13 business days

* One additional day may be added to the service standards for the delivery of Dimensional Addressed Admail.

Notes:

  • Delivery service standards are calculated from the day of deposit (day 0) plus the number of business days required for delivery. For all services, deposits on days other than business days are considered as being deposited on the next business day.
  • For the delivery of Dimensional Addressed Admail, one additional business day may be added to the service standards.
  • These service standards do not apply to redirected or returned items.
  • Service standards are subject to change without notice.

For more information, visit the Service Standards chapter of the Canada Postal Guide, under section 3 "Direct Marketing and Transaction Mail - Domestic".

Three-day delivery windows exist within these provincial and national standards for Addressed Admail mailings inducted in specific urban centres for delivery in other urban centres. The three-day range varies by the geographic locations of mail induction and delivery destinations.

Please refer to the Canada Postal Guide for additional information on service standards between major urban centres.

Scheduling

Addressed Admail Customers are required to schedule mailings with Canada Post, at least (5) five business days before the day of mailing. The schedule must include date, time and deposit location of mailing, and the estimated number of mail Items in each complete mailing.

For Customers depositing Dimensional Addressed Admail, the Letter Carrier Volume Summary must be provided to Canada Post at least (10) ten business days prior to the mailing.

Customers who mail on a frequent basis will be identified by their local Canada Post Representative and may be required to provide a mailing plan and/or deposit schedule. This documentation will include details necessary to ensure efficient deposit and processing of their mailings.
