Electronic Shipping Tools
- Desktop vs On-line

Both versions are very similar in how they function - One is a stand-alone application (Desktop version) and the other is accessed real time through the Internet (On-line version). Some characteristics of each version are listed below.

Common to Both

  • Internet connection (Required)
  • Valid user ID and password (Required)
  • Rating engine with latest rate information
  • Built-in Calculation Worksheet estimates mailing cost
  • Information is validated prior to printing documentation
  • "Transmit/Ship" feature eliminates data re-entry errors
  • Printed Statement of Mailing (SOM) now resembles an Invoice/Transaction Record
  • Automation Incentive for Shipping & Delivery Services

Desktop Version

  • Work off-line and access the Internet only when customers are ready to upload their orders (Close the order)
  • Unlimited number of customer information templates can be saved
  • Statements of Mailing can be transmitted one at a time or in batches
  • When required, software patches and upgrades are performed automatically via an internet connection
  • No support for Macintosh or Linux platform
  • Default settings are available for Shipping & Delivery Services

On-Line Version

  • Work on-line to complete a Statement of Mailing and/or to ship a package
  • Customer tombstone information automatically appears in the data-entry screen when the user ID and password are entered and validated
  • Offers a short solution (Express Order Entry) for Unaddressed Admail and Ship in Canada Services
  • Software updates are automatic
  • No software download is required
  • Customer templates can be saved {30 for Communications Services & 10 for Shipping & Delivery Services} (browser dependent)
  • Statements of Mailing can only be transmitted one at a time (no batch file transmit feature)
  • No Manifest required for Shipping & Delivery Services. The label is proof of mailing.
