Electronic Shipping Tools
- Third Party Solutions

Non-Standard applications

For many of our customers, the Electronic Shipping Tools software application is appropriate. Typically these customers use Canada Post services exclusively, use a limited number of services and have no requirement for an automated interface to Electronic Shipping Tools. For customers that have more complex business processes or utilize multiple carriers, we recommend the use of Third Party solutions.

Our "Non-Standard" applications have various options to choose from since Canada Post has established a certification program. Canada Post is pleased to provide you with a list of certified vendors in order to help with your decision. You will be responsible for contacting the vendor of your choice and identifying your unique situation, business process and requirements.

There are considerable advantages to a Third Party solution. One is that you can negotiate a seamless transition from your existing system to the implementation of a new product along with your own service-level agreement.

These approved E-link vendors are able to tailor the software to your specific needs; in some cases they may be able to utilize your hardware and supply customized software and peripherals - at a great savings to you.

Each of the approved vendors on the list has gone through an extensive evaluation procedure with Canada Post. This process demands that the vendors produce Canada Post compliant labels and electronic manifests, along with customer specific rates. Upon completing the evaluation, Canada Post awards the vendor with a Letter of Certification. The vendor is then included in our approved Vendors list.

By selecting a Canada Post approved vendor you will be able to identify your specific support needs, customize reporting requirements, as well as identify ongoing costs such as equipment, maintenance and rate updates. Once the vendor has had an opportunity to review your requirements, a solution will be proposed. If you're in agreement with all of their terms and conditions regarding support, you can enter into an agreement with both the vendor and Canada Post.

In today's business world, change can be difficult. At Canada Post we think switching your shipping department from a manual process to an automated process is one of the best decisions that you can make!

To show our appreciation for automating your processes, we are pleased to apply an automatic 3% discount to your weekly invoice effective January 17, 2005. This financial incentive will, in many cases, more than offset the cost for your organization to make the necessary automation investment.
