Unaddressed AdmailTM
- Transportation Time

Unaddressed Admail service standards are divided into two parts: transportation time and delivery cycle. You can determine the service standard for your Unaddressed Admail mailings by adding the two together.

The transportation time is the time taken to move your items from the office where you deposit your Unaddressed Admail to the office from which your material will be delivered. The transportation time does not apply if your mailing is deposited at the same office from which items will be delivered.

The delivery cycle reflects the number of business days required to complete the delivery of your Unaddressed Admail items. The delivery cycle varies depending on delivery at a Letter Carrier office or non-Letter Carrier office.

As the transportation time could vary from two business days for local delivery to 14 business days for national delivery, we have developed grids to provide you with more specific transportation times to assist you in planning your mailings.

There are 19 different deposit locations across Canada.

The Transportation Time information can…

  • Assist you in determining the optimal lead-time needed for depositing your Unaddressed Admail mailings
  • Indicate the transportation time in business days that the mailing will take to arrive at the delivery location from the deposit location.

How the Transportation Time information works…

The information is based on the office of deposit and the postal codes-or postal code ranges-of the office(s) of delivery.

Once you determine the transportation time you can determine the best deposit date for that mailing to arrive at your selected destination. The delivery cycle starts the day after the office of delivery receives the mail. Improving the timing of your deposit would reduce the potential of having your mailing delivered earlier than your preferred release date.

How to Use the Transportation Time information…

Step 1 Determine the office of deposit for your Unaddressed Admail mailing.
Step 2 Look-up the transportation time information for that office of deposit.
Step 3 Determine the different offices of delivery, including the postal codes, for your Unaddressed Admail mailing.
Step 4 Look up the postal code or postal code range for each office of delivery.
Step 5 Determine the amount of business days needed for transportation.
Step 6 Deposit mailing according to the transportation time that has been determined.

If your deposit location is not included here, you can use the service standards information as found in the Postal Guide to assist you in your mailing make-up and deposit planning.
